A spot of art

... disappointed. The pieces were either too conservative or too pretentious in my opinion, and certainly didn't match the modern art I'd seen in Barcelona and London recently.

Museum 3, the Samsung Child Education & Culture Centre was designed by Rem Koolhaas from the Netherlands, and surprisingly housed nothing that dealt with children or education. However, it did have some interesting contemporary moving image works. The ...

... a few more breaks and then the two vocalists (one male and one female) getting right into it when they had their moments on stage. We were right up the front, and it was interesting to see how the Koreans reacted. There was certainly none of the pushing I was used to back home, and I was quite surprised when I saw men in business suits and one girl with her shopping!

Next up were The Crystal Method, the highlight of the night for me. I'd known about them for years ...

Simplicity

... from other people.

My life is simple and I appreciate this time. I have a simple home, but it's a space of my own. I have a job that allows me to play and influence the lives of children, mostly free of stress. I am able to recognize the beauty of the simplicity of my life and cherishing it.

I am also grateful for the kindness and generosity of strangers. I think my dad must be watching out for me, as nearly everywhere I've traveled I seem to acquire ...

... roads my mom would be scared to drive on in her small SUV, much less a tour bus!  Luckily we have not actually hit anything yet.  The thing is, it is not just one bus driver, we change bus drivers all the time, and they all drive the same way.  They are worse than cab drivers, I swear!  But watching all of the other people drive, they are not afraid to run you over- I think it is worse than NYC.  Oh!  And, all the cars are either white, silver, or black.  It is ...

... found a tavern that had strange music and bright colourful lights. I couldn't help but feel many eyes upon me and was not sure what would come of the situation. I was soon trading shots of a strong spirit called Jack Daniels with Artemus. She did go the distance with me but was not able to stay afloat and soon found herself in the ...

The Days When the Rains Came

... was a huge pipe organ and choir. They had songbooks and since I can read a bit of the korean (just not fast or to the point of comprehension) I could sing along. The first thing I noticed that it was a very small minority of women who did not wear a white veil over their hair. It made me feel like a heathen for showing my shoulders!

The mass was fine. That's the one good thing about being Catholic. Catholic means universal and our mass definitely is that. It was ...

... water plunge pool, a steam room, a dry sauna, a jet pool and far infrared lights. The steam room and dry sauna are lined with charcoal and amethyst crystals, which are known for their healing and cleansing properties. It was so relaxing and rejuvenating. Women just hang out and bath together and I've become a big fan! The gym that I joined has a jimjilbang included in the membership, so I've been going everyday after work now too. I've also been ...

This pollution makes me sick and grouchy!

... freezing in those classrooms. I really need to invest in a new hoodie sweater. I think that will be the goal for this weekend. Time to teach class. I am tired already. I am pretty sure I am going to sleep really well tonight! Love you, A p.s. They play the Sound of Music soundtrack all the time in this school! The kids love it! Oh, and that damn "I like to move it, move it" song from Madagascar! I have never been more irritated!

Textbooks say the darndest things

... in Mexico Mrs. Weber: Yes, but Mexico is in North America, just like we are. Kimura: Yeah, but if that's true, then Brazil and Peru are also in America Mrs. Weber: Yes, they are. Of course they are in South America, if we say America, we could be talking about any country from Canada to Argentina. Gina: So if we want to be more accurate, should we say we live in the United States of America? Mrs. Weber: Exactly! That is the real ...
