      Off to Manchester after supper to be next to the airport for the early morning flight! Need to check in at 6.40 am (sigh)... But very excited to get on the way! Hoping for an upgrade due to it being my birthday (10th feb), however, will be very surprised if i get one! Fingers crossed. Etihad flight to Bangkok via Abu Dhabi ...

      Today sees us leaving Witton Gilbert with Passports! Vicky took us to Durham Station and then we caught the train and bus to Manchester Airport! The whole journey went very smoothly, with the exception of lugging large cases up and down stairs at York but hey ho! Very early in Airport - 1hr before gate opened. Looking forward to being frisked by Si but he's in Teneriffe! Both well and now waiting for Gate to open and signing off for next ...

      ... casting golden reflections over the whole area. I needn't have got excited it was just a block of boring offices called West Quay and not the pleasure dome of Kubla Khan.
      Next to that was the Imperial War Museum. I have a feeling that the single floor of items on display and the manner of their display was aimed at a 6 to 16 year old audience. There were a lot of interactive computer displays and while I was there a 15 minute audio/visual ...

      ... wandered out of the train station and made my way down the streets of Manchester.
      It was a rather exciting feeling, as I didn't get to do this often. In fact, a better way of phrasing things would be to say I never did this.
