... sandwiches! It was delicious! After a quick cuppa to wash it down, we were back on the road and off to see the sights. Over the trip we nearly ran over a Cassowary which ran out of the bush from nowhere, luckily Lisa is a mean machine behind the wheel and managed to avoid it but it was huuuuge and a great sight to see. We also saw some Dolphins which were pointed out to us by a fisherman in his canoe which was amazing! And we even walked through a potentially ...

... The cruise took about an hour, and we only saw 2 crocs, one was only very young, and the other was about 2 metres long, we saw lots of rainforrest and some interesting birds. Early start on Thursday as we were catching the tourist train to Kuranda. The train ...

We retired to our beds a very tired little family, with the promise of an amazing few days ...

Last leg of the trip! And last drive day! En route to Cairns we explored the Atherton Tablelands staying in Yungaberra for the night. There was no room at the inn due to a huge school group of American kids turning up minutes before us so we were upgraded to the local pub's hotel currently under renovation.. we were the only guests which made for a creepy night. Before bed we went platypus spotting but were unsuccessful, and then went on ...

    Day 24 Cairns

Last day in Australia! Went on a day trip out to the Woodleigh Ranch way out in the countryside. It's quite a nice place those folks have. They welcomed us with tea (how civilized), showed us around the ranch, cooked up a BBQ, and taught us how to crack whips. The bus broke down on the way back but it was okay because none of us really want to leave anyway! We passed the time by playing blackjack. Not looking forward to the 31 hours of airport hopping I'll be doing ...
