    ... the elected president I am realising how much I have detached myself from this stuff. The abdication of King Albert caught up with us in Ghent whilst refreshing ourselves with Belgian's finest (no, not chocolate) and the Egyptian saga crept up on me when checking the weather on the BBC website. Weather is more important than politics, sometimes, me thinks.

    ... a little laid down in the back of the car and read my book for a while. It was nice and warm and I could have easily gone to sleep but as I needed to have the windows open I didn't want anyone to rob me when I was sleeping (even though they don't bother to lock their bikes here) so I stayed awake.

    ... both inside and outside, many sculptures, stained glass windows and spires. After this we went and checked out the Grand Place which is a court surrounded by numerous large and old buildings all with amazing architecture and covered in sculptures and gargoyles, we had dinner in this area on the way back we tried some Belgium chocolate which is very delicious, almost as good as Swiss. I was very disappointed that we didn't spend more time here but now off to Paris.
