... and although I'd heard of it, I had no idea what it was about. It's full of waxworks! Mannequins! I'm not a big fan of mannequins and I used to get myself into trouble in department stores for fidgeting with their sleeves, only to discover they weren't mannequins. People shouldn't stand so still! I once stroked a mannequin's face and got yelled at. Sorry - but you looked so - plastic! And smooth! I thought I'd learnt my lesson from touching people ...
Whirlwind trip to Paris
... s Fair. It was only supposed to stand for 20 years and be dismantled. There are a couple of stories I read about why it was not - they needed it for the radio tower and that it had become iconic for Paris. It was another sight that was amazing to behold in person.
I feel so lucky to have experienced this sight and to have experienced it with my family/boyfriend made it even better. Enjoy the pictures.

Going, going, gone
... and headed back to Bistro Marguerite for lunch: grilled salmon for Tara, moulded cod and potato with onion and garlic (which was quite fabulous!) for me. Still raining, so we had dessert (and coffee for me) while writing a few final postcards from the City of Light.
Finally the rain stopped, so off we went to Notre Dame one more time. We came prepared with rice for the pigeons (the usual pigeon feeders use rice or bread), and spent a lovely hour feeding them ...
Eiffel Tower
... up talking and they told me all about their study abroad program in London. I want to go to London and I decided today to go. They told me where to stay and what to do. So I am planning on going very soon.

Jour 2 - Versailles downtown
... a court...mais c'est la vie!
Fait étonnant: lors de la révolution, le roi, la reine et sa gang, sont descendus à Paris de leur
propre gré, où ça s'est terminé à la Place de la Concorde par la guillotine .
Afin de renflouer les coffres, les Français sont venus à Versailles et n'ont rien pillé, ni vandalisés, mais plutôt ont vendu les meubles et peintures.
