Stopover in Chicago. We were so boooored, 8h flight to here, stopover in 2.5h and then 3h flight again. but the funny thing about this is that we saw some liquid dropping from the wing. it started after takeoff from Honolulu. ... just kept doing the same thing. Kristina lamented about the bad driving culture here, her comments very much in line with earlier observations she'd made about how stressed out, rude and self-serving people in Chicago are. It made me thankful for my laid-back, sun-worshiping, drought-ridden state of California.

Despite that momentary frustration, my first day in Chicago was amazing. I can't wait to explore more. And maybe even take some more selfies at The Bean.

... about as we enjoyed a late dinner. We had a terrific day but really just scratched the surface of this great city.

Family Folklore: After the boat tour we were starving. We came upon a California Pizza Kitchen and had a lovely dinner. There was a terrific breakfast at our hotel. When the waitress heard we were on a road trip she loaded us up with muffins, fruit and yogurt parfaits.
