Day 7 & 8
Our first shopping day yay!!! Today we decided to hire a car and check out the outlets, Rick's Restorations and Vegas in general. We managed to purchase all of our ski gear and lots of other bargains, even Billy went a little cray cray in Tommy Hilfiger lol!! After a big day of shopping we headed back to the motel to pack our bags for our flight to Aspen in the morning.

... and spills galore as the skiers tackled the very fast and demanding tight turning course.
What a weekend! The end of our time watching the Workd Cup skiers and we were certainly not disappointed. To travel half way around the world was worth it. An experience we will never forget and certainly aim to do again.

... Rugged up again we made our way to the stadium. Cloudy overcast start with the temperature around -8 but the sun made its appearance mid morning warming us up nicely. The course was superbly groomed and the snow was in excellent condition due to the cold night.

Although I was disappointed that one of our favourites, the Norwegian Viking Axel Lund Svindal, was injured and not racing we could not have been more pleased than to see his compatriot, Kjetil Jansrud, fly down the difficult course to win from the Swiss Beat Feuz. Stephen's new skis passed the test with flying colours (I knew they would suit him) Very responsive and fast! He loved the many varied runs. They are so long!!!!! compared to Australia. They just go on and on and on.
I joined him after lunch as I also wanted to test out my new skis. What a pleasurable afternoon it was. Skis were responsive, easy to carve and very stable at speed (my speed anyway). I really enjoyed the ...
