... six months ago. I had done copious amounts of research for the trip and braced myself for the worst. My experience in Kenya was incredible, but that may have been due to a sort of "bubble" that all of the delegates were placed in for the duration of the International Gold Event.
Here, there is no internationally guided "bubble" to shield me; no buffer zone between myself and the "real world" - just me, my wits and my determination to see this through.

Today our hire car arrived for our 'long' trip out to Hothersal House & Uncle Jerry. Jerry came down to pick us up and we followed him up to Hothersal. The house is magnificent and lunch was superb. ... four or is it five days now since leaving Barbados to cross the Atlantic. Had a wonderful day at the Hilton in Bridgetown with a lively sea but a clear blue sky.

Tomorrow we do our completely under-rehearsed pantomime of Cinderella and on Tuesday we reach our last port of call, Funchal, Madiera.

Home at midday on Saturday if dear Rob is able to pick me up.
