      ... work the common wisdom is to move to the other side of the island.

      The place we picked to anchor is called Smuggler's Cove (har har.) We shared it with quite a few other boats as it was the weekend. Later that evening the NW wind that the island should have blocked came up and over the top blowing a good 15-20 knots.
