O my goodness! What did I get myself into?
'Dis so glad soos snot!' Translated: The snow is VERY slippery!
We made it through the first day and we are all still in one piece.
The kids enjoyed every moment and want us to take them skiing, but I think its dangerous for Charl and I to take responsibility for anyone else.

... nearly 8 hours skiing. Visibility wasn't great and unfortunately got worse as the day progressed. The last run of the day we were practically blind being unable to see one pole to the next. A tad scary when you're not sure which way is down! The upside of the poor visibility was the enormous dump of snow that was heading our way...power of collective prayers?!

Despite the mammoth day, clearly we didn't go ...

... two thousand and five meters. A couple more failed attempts and I saw smoke coming from a chimney. The café had rooms available and it looked like I was safe for tonight. I was worried that I am now facing an impossible task tomorrow to make it to the game in good time but at this point all I could do was collapse on the bed. A hot shower and some minestrone soup put me to sleep in minutes. I will worry about tomorrow when it comes.
