Durham and York
Finished the cereal we've had left over at the hostel. Walked to the car, filled up the tank just outside Edinburgh and headed towards Durham. Stopped on the coast after Dunbar for a few photos of the cliffs. Continued the long drive south to Durham. Arrived at The Sands car park at 2. Had a quiche and a slice of orange cake at a Mediterranean bakery west across the river from the Durham peninsula. Came up to Palace Green where we saw the entrance to Durham Castle and more ...
Airports and aeroplanes
... all still wearing their headphones (tripwires for toilet bound me!) With ninja skills like that I should be at the Olympics, I'm wasted at Fox's. It seems like everyone on the plane is asleep apart from me. I'm bored and walking around the plane writing this. I think we must be going over Brisbane now, almost there. Just another 2hours 40minutes. Woop! I'm gonna see if I can get another hot snack. I'm not actually hungry I'm just bored and yesterday ...

A York That´s Not New
... cool area of the city is a jumble of streets appropriately called the Shambles. Everywhere, the Xmas decorations anddisplays gave it a magical feel. Streets of ramshackle, though now wellrenovated, buildings house mostly gift shops, restaurants, and tourist-oriented attractions. We succumbed to one, a chocolate factory tour, which filled us with facts about the locally made chocolate and tons of samples. Ever hear of KitKat and Aero bars? Over 1 ...
Leaving for the airport.
Taxi from Batley to Leeds at 10am as my coach down to London is at 10:40. Driver doesn't know where the bus station is but we get there with plenty of time to spare. Supposed to get there 15 minutes early so the driver can check you on. By 10:40 the bus isn't even there. 11:00 still no show. At 11:15 the 11:30 coach turns up and tells a group of about ten people that we'll have to wait for the 10:40 bus as he can't take us. Our bus has broken down and is running approx ...
