... in matching attire to bridesmaids. Who said the Ozzies don’t know how to do things in style?
We had a good time at The Powerhouse, an old Power Station, now an arts venue with lots of live music, art exhibitions, films and so on, many of which are free. We planned to see a series of short films, part of a festival, but when we got there the sign on the door said it was not suitable for children. We debated whether or not to just smuggle Bea in, but decided against it ...
... who tells you David Copperfield's magic secrets but I'm on holidays and feeling generous.
There's not that much left to do other than finish packing and wait for the cab, oh yes, and have the obligatory glass of champers in the Qantas Club prior to boarding!
The fun starts and the blogging will continue once we land in The Old Dart til then.........
PS I wonder if I will get some of those Peter Morrisey PJ's?
... wasn't going to be a problem - just as we were checking in, the big man came up to reception and stood beside me. So that solved the question of whether or not we were going to get to meet the team - Clarky even gave us complimentary tickets to the game (I didn't have the heart to tell him we were already going, hence the reason why we were in Brisbane in the first place - it's the thought that counts n all).
So in the end we met the whole squad and ...
... trip but we only saw a handful of dolphins in the distance, we were told because it was so windy. The next day it was still blowing a gale but we didn't let that put us off and we went to see the huge Stockton sand dunes. We met lots of groups of men who all looked at us like we were crazy walking up the dunes while they were tucked up in their big fancy 4WDs away from the sand. It was slightly painful but worth the walk as the views were spectacular ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia nickyloo... Koala Sanctuary. It was a 30 min bus ride away from Brisbane and I managed to get YHA discount on entry - woo! It didnt just have koalas- it has birds, bats, crocodiles, cassowarys, cockatoos (which said Hello and Byebye to me and really freaked me out!!!), and kangaroos. I bought a bag of feed for $1 and there was a Kangaroo enclosure where you could go and feed and pet them. It was fun, I petted lots of roos and saw a mother and a joey in her pouch. Some really ...
:) Also: Let's surf Byron! Ich melde mich dann Montag wieder! Liebe Grüße in die Heimat.. Franzi

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia pops4... left at 7:45am... so we took a taxi to the bus station (as we learned on our first day, it is not a good idea to walk with all of our luggage to the Roma St. Station!) We saw Taylor there, since her bus left at 7:30. Poor girl... she doesn't even get to live on the coast and has no friends out there. Our bus ride was 5 hours and 25 minutes long... it wasn't too bad, but it was fairly busy so we didn't always have seats to ourselves. Lisa sat with ...
Brisbane, Queensland, Australia mbradley... serene but there's nothing too special about the gardens except for this small waterfalls inside and they've got this old coffee place that had a display of giant quilts. We had fun relaxing on the grass and taking group photos. We were all craving for ice cream but didn't find any within the vicinity. We ended up stopping at Macca's along the highway for a sundae treat on our way home.
Blue Mountains, NSW, Australia bluesummit... and did everything I asked him to do effortlessly, it was fantastic, I couldn't believe my luck, he was a perfect text book horse. Our ride took us through the forest for two hours winding along narrow tracks (painfully trying to avoid loosing our knees to the trees!) and occasionally you caught an incredible view across the valley. After falling in love with my horse Comet, we made a sad departure back to the hostel to try our luck at bush walking!?! We headed back ...
