Two weeks out from the trip, and an Australian summer as far removed as can be from the arctic blasts that will confront me in Norway and Iceland. It's been 9 months in the making since I signed on to accompany Rod Thomas of Rod Thomas Photography on a tour of the majestic Lofoten Islands in arctic Norway.

... ve got good at saying goodbye and thank you this year. With a lift to the airport there wasn't anything we could say to measure the kindness our friends had shown us this Christmas. We expected ours to be a small affair this year, mainly missing being sat around the table at Emma's parents with all the family. We didn't even have the money to buy each other a gift. ... what that means to the people of the UK! The middle of no where in Oz means just that. The middle of no where in the UK might mean you live in the country side and your neighbour is a couple of minutes away. The house here they have 38,000 acres of land! ... some more shops later on, Was lovely too see H and M, Zara, Topshop, just proper shopping really! We then went to the opening of Victoria Markets Summer Night Market. Ben was in his element.
