Dubai to Rye

... have become used to in Paris, London and Dubai. We caught the 7.51am train which arrived at 7.58, to Carrum Station where we were met by Bee. Bee drove us home. It had been raining heavily and the house was freezing so we lit both fires, put on the heater, unpacked and relaxed in the lounge room in front of the fire. Thanks Rhianna for taking me to the airport and buying me my first expense sunglasses. You rock.

Met up with my travel partner, checked our bags and then off to get something to drink before we head off to a trip we have been planning for over a year. I cannot believe I am really doing this.

Finally on the plane and getting ready to head to Dubai. I am really getting excited now. Venice here we come.

Of course, we couldn’t have taken the time to sort that stuff out without good food to fuel us. Luckily Melbourne is far from lacking. It probably isn’t even possible to stand anywhere in the CBD without being able to see at least half a dozen places to eat, drink, and/or be merry. We found some excellent ...

... as we had paid in full in advance! We managed to keep remarkably calm in the circumstances and they finally agreed that we were entitled to a room and would get one. Not sure where they will get it from, considering the hotel is apparently full! Never mind, what will be will be, and they gave us a free (large) glass of wine each so who cares?! We sat in the rather stately lounge drinking our wine and booking tours for the rest of the week ...
