    Monday, October 13, 2014 Willemstad • Optional Delta Works tour • Kinderdijk tour At 4:30 yesterday, we set sail for Willemstad, Holland. We went through a huge lock with three other ships and then sailed into the enormous harbor. In the evening, we had a fabulous time at the Captain's table.     ... because of the water eddies affecting us. Thank goodness we had the tide with us and not against us too!! When we turned on to the Spui, it was not supposed to have a tidal flow and if it did it should have been with us, BUT it did have a flow and was quite strong against us! This section is manually controlled and normally has a flow going north, and by jove it did, but not as much as the Oude Maas.

    ... vents on the helmet, and a spray would hit me in the face even though my visor was down. Almost as soon as the storm had started, it cleared and I rode the final half an hour under sunny skies. Strange. I arrived at the hostel and checked in.
