Monday, October 13, 2014 Willemstad • Optional Delta Works tour • Kinderdijk tour At 4:30 yesterday, we set sail for Willemstad, Holland. We went through a huge lock with three other ships and then sailed into the enormous harbor. In the evening, we had a fabulous time at the Captain's table. Our Captain is delightful and we also sat with our excellent tour director. The food And conversation ...

We stopped for a cup of coffee and a piece of Apple pie, then walked around the town. Found out it is the birthplace of Vermeer (Dutch painter), and William of Orange lived and died there. Lots of young people as there is a university there. We were going to have dinner there, but no one was really hungry and it was rather cold, so we came home and had an early night. ...

... Man at border control looked at boys passports and asked if we were visiting relatives ( not this time I am afraid). Found our way to train and hopped in cab at Den Haag Centaal. Our taxi driver had argument with polite ( police) while we sat in cab but was eventually sorted and he dropped us off at delightful Hotel Mozaic. Have a quite luxurious room with dining area, coffee machine, slippers and nice big bed, free coffee and fruit all day a nice touch. ...
