Last stretch of Australia...
... the Opera House so booked a tour at the extortionate rate of 28 dollars each and that was with discount! The tour was very good though and we learnt a lot about the building, finding out that the design of the building was by someone called Utzon who was the winner of the Design a building competition that advertised when the conductor of the Sydney Philharmonic had suggested a permanent place for the orchestra to play. So he won the competition out of 228 entries ...
Day 91
... but faint and really tired, so chilled out weekend is in order before work on monday. Think its probably the heat, its getting up and above 30 degrees most days now, and its a nightmare to sleep in this heat. So spent rest od day reading, made some tea and done general things like washing, boring really, but seeing as im now staying in Sydney till march i dont really want to go out and do everything at once, then i really will be bored! ...
A late start!
... 10min train journey into the centre of a very hot and sunny Sydney and then a short walk to our Nomads Hostel. After checking in we picked up some lunch at the supermarket and went to eat in Hyde Park before continuing on our exploration. Tuesday, Day 79
... was fried so decided to go have some lunch, now im sligthly addicted to sushi at the min, trying all different ones, well i have a couple that i like then try a new one each time. so sat and read my book trying to eat sushi with my chopsticks, also something else im learning to do, its harder than it looks! anyway sat wondering how on earth you pick these massive pieces os sushi and eat them without making a mess, well two Asian girls came ...
Back to Bondi
... forgot. They are their own people, with their own views and, clearly, their own disappointments. Its a wake up call.
Lunch at Bronte is, happily, a highlight. A lovely view and absolutely amazing corn fritters. I have been dreaming about corn fritters ever since leaving Australia the last time.
