... at a place called Asia Bay next to one of the canals. I sat at the sushi bar and ordered a bottle of the house sake (the only one they serve warm) and three pieces of unagi. The latter came as sushi,with the eel wrapped with a band of nori. Delicious.

Stopped at the American Social Club on the way back to the hotel and had a Breckenridge vanilla porter. It was only $4 so I guess it’s still happy hour. Like the Royal Pig, this place has TV screens ...

... get it, but I was lost. Madrid has a very different feel to any other European city we have seen. The buildings are huge and imposing, the streets are massive and everything seems to be new. In stark contrast to Naples or Marseille.

Friday caused a few headaches as well. Tap Air Portugal (who we were supposed to fly with from Spain to Lisbon and then to Miami) had a pilot strike, and our connecting flight ...

First Mate then noticed that directly in front of the u turn was Vizcaya, one of the places on her Florida Bucket list she had longed to visit for many years.
