Today we visited the UNESCO town of Telc. Pronounced Telch like belch. Un untouched 16th. century town.

Had a limited castle tour as they are filming the movie "Emperor". Barbara auditioned for a solo and got the part!! Only problem, we can't be here for the rest of the filming.

... concert from our hotel room-this time harp and violin. At 5 we boarded our bus and visited a family outside of town. They live in a 16th century house that they are restoring. After a tour of the house and yard we were treated to tea and cookies and a violin concert! Back to town, dinner in a cave, our first authentic Budweiser beer (not the American variety) and off to bed.

Next up was a raft trip down the river. There were three weirs on the route, and each one had a special chute for rafts and kayaks. I was in the front of the raft and so had the best view and got the most splash at the bottom of the chute. The rest of the ride was smooth and pleasant, giving us new views of the castle and town. The unusual aspect of the castle is that instead of a brick fašade, the walls have been rendered with the lines giving the effect of brick work having been stained into the render, giving a very artistic effect. ... at. She bought a scarf and was very happy with her purchases. We then enjoyed some apple strudel and hot/cold drinks at a coffee shop overlooking the town square. A lovely way to end our day. Our walk home to us past an art shop which I really wanted to go into. I loved this shop. It was filled with quality art products, so colourful and not touristy at all. The brand was Koh-I-Noor, which apparently is a Czech brand. I used to buy this brand online ...
