        ... an Anzac poppy she had brought from NZ to honour NZ servicemen and in particular her grandfather Charlie who had told her that he served in Malta in the Royal Navy and that there was a war memorial that commemorated the serviceman and the Siege of Malta. A fellow passenger said that Malta took a pounding from prolonged German bombardment. Charlie had been awarded the Maltese Cross for serving there. He died a couple of months ago.         ... don't get on it then you miss out. Our next stop was the blue grotto but we couldn't see it because we didn't have time to get off. By now it was really not and we were struggling to stay awake.         ... to the fishing village for lunch and shopped at the markets. We saw the Blue Grotto. It was very pretty. Then we went to Hagar Qim a temple that was 5000 years old. Finally we visited the old capital, Mdina,It looked a bit like a castle. From there we saw the church that was hit by a bomb in World War II while 4000 people were inside!
