The Drive North to Patras
... not enough time to see it all. There is both a Turkish mosque and a Christian church inside the walls as well as a huge main square.
Next stop was a popular beach area at Zaharo where we stopped for a swim and lunch. It was quite curious when a man was walking his dog on the beachfollowed by his sheep.
Headed off then for our drive to Patras to meet the Superfast Ferry to Bari, Italy which was our accommodation for the night.

Overnight Ferry
... the madhouse that was the bus park at the foot of the huge hill which the Parthenon and Acropolis is perched on, we had a choice: brave the century heat and walk half a kilometre to see the ruins or pike out and have a coffee at a local cafe! We could see the ruins were covered in scaffold due to cleaning being carried out, and not being in a ruins frame of mind Mumsie and I chose to coffee - finding a beaut air conditioned place with great coffee, a friendly ...

Amazing Race wannabes
... Here is when our Amazing Race skills kicked in.. Nicky was on her phone within seconds, searching for flights from Athens straight to Rome, I was madly calculating in my head what a cab driver might accept to take on the quest of getting us to Patras in time. Once Nicky was done with flight options, not getting the sold out 2.30pm bus was going to cost us in the region of at least $750AUD..not even counting the cost of the missed boat fare, ...
