The Elephant Show

... was choreographed to music & a sword fight on elephants. After the dancing we moved over to the Elephant Show. This was the highlight of the day. They had elephants throwing darts to a balloon dart board; they were riding tricycles; playing soccer; shooting hoops and bowling. Every time they did a trick, they would run to the audience for bananas. (You could purchase this fruit from the theater to give to the elephants). We ...

My room in Pattaya

... the walls, pieces of chalk, half empty tubes of acrylics paint covering the floor, an ashtray with several half smoked sigarettes, a puddle of clean water the result of melted ice normally used to cool your glass of Thai whisky, more art stuff under ny bed, pensils and a plastic plate with dried arylics paint, a pair of lady`s underwear showing up like magic, my once bulky backpack forgotten in the corner, not so bulky anymore now that ...

Thailand - Pattaya

... i hate to say it) a freak show if im being perfectly honest. Without going into too much detail for all of you with clean minds, the girls in these shows basically do 'interesting' things with their plumbing down below, such things involving Ping Pong balls, pea shooters and balloons, eggs and possibly the funniest things, cigarettes! Me and Max left the place laughing our heads off but also both having noticed how unhappy these girls looked, the things they have to do to make a ...

... resorts" or what looks more like a cluster of bungalows... nothing fancy, just simple and "rustic". BUT, it wasn't cheap (in thai standards... in US standards, for what you get, it would be unimaginably cheap... but eunice and i have quickly adjusted to the relativity here)... at 600 baht (about $16/night) it was one of the pricier places we've been thus far. but well worth it... the interior of the island is basically one street with small restaurants and shops ...

The One With Firman Have The Adrenaline Rush

... however, the sausage looked weird. I then realized that the meat is pork. I quickly get my meal changed. It was closed call for me. So after we changed into our "Pattaya Wear", we headed down to the beach again in hope to find a cheaper price for para-sailing. Well we managed to get a good deal for about 400 baht. So we got that. The experience was superb. Nothing can describe the feeling in the air. The best part is that it cost 400baht, 50 ...

Meeting mad people

... poles wanting you to buy them for the evening! An eye opener but a good laugh... and before you ask, no we didn't purchase anyone, we just enjoyed the view! haha... Grianne is coming back out here in the next few months to stay in thailand for a year so i can't wait to see her again.. The next mad one was a 'business' evening at a British Chamber of Commerce networking event that Ted and I had to attend on behalf of fairtex, once there a down to earth, english ...

The world that is Pattaya

We arrived in Pattaya on Monday afternoon. We had been booked in to a room in the redempterist centre which was a far cry away from the surrounding streets that we intially saw. We got a lovely room with Air Con, tv etc (plus vouchers for breakfast, lunch and dinner) with a lovely view of the church outside the window. The area we were staying in was like a small wee village and it was still being built up. There was security guarding the entrances and the centre also composed of the block ...

Nam Phong Politics

... lesson, a life-lesson too, is that everything works out eventually. You can worry about things, and those things will either happen or they won't. Either way, you're worse off if you've spent your time pining over them. At around the 9:55 mark, my Nayok asked me if I have a TV. I said, "I have no TV, I read books- they are less expensive." And he said that my Balat would take me to his wife's house tomorrow to pick up a TV. It is a good life if you don't weaken.
