... but were not expecting to see the beautiful silverback gorillas. One little family had a three week old baby. Heartbreaking to see them in captivity. While waiting for the bus back to our hotel we witnessed the tiniest of Hummingbirds zipping in and out of flowering trees. Another first! Back to the hotel and to pack our bags. The homelessness plight has certainly been an eye opener in San Diego. Time to fly to San Francisco! We will take away some good memories and some ...

This hotel is the only one we have booked ...

... and honest about what was going on and drove us through some of the less touristy bits. Getting back into the US wasn't too hard either we only had to wait 45 minutes when sometimes it can take 1 to 4 hours according to the driver and the others who have had to deal with border crossings.

On Tuesday we went to the San Diego Safari Park. The park was gigantic and went on and on. It felt like we were in the middle of the desert ...

... This wasn't the confidence boost we needed. However, it turned out to be a lot tamer than we had thought. Once off the tram you walk straight into Mexico, no border control or anything. We walked about ten minutes into Tijuana where we went to a bar for some margaritas. After here, we went to a bigger bar where we had some more margaritas and some food. We left about ten o'clock and when dark it all seemed a bit more scary. It ...
