... while watching the moon for signs of the space shuttle we had seen lift off earlier that day. Maybe even my best memory was when I crashed into the tree while playing Pickle and my grandpa told me I had a hole in my lip. For some reason my family always thought it was funny to watch me become hysterical.

... lunch and dinners, dips in the pool and a trip to the beach for breakfast all filled the days. Everyone left on Sunday and we had a full day with Mom and Dad.

Monday afternoon we headed for Tampa to catch our Us Airways flights to Phoenix, on to Las Vegas, and finally, Hawaiian Air red-eye to Honolulu, arriving at five a.m.

... sweetest sound. The vista from the marina was spectacular. Small islands and keys dotted the water and big, beautiful houses lined the shores. Absolutely gorgeous! We were filthy, hungry, weary and slightly worse for the wear but we had finally arrived!

And so ended the Great Crossing. It was scary, it was grueling and it was challenging. It lasted 18 hours so it was exhausting. The Captain and First Mate thought this might be considered a slightly rough Crossing. ...

So...lucky us...we don't have a flight that is leaving at the crack of dawn, which is our usual method of flying somewhere. We have a leasurely trip to the Tampa airport to catch a 1:30pm flight to Miami with a connection leaving at 5:30pm to Lima.
