Highway Note 2 - From the Florida Panhandle to Texas there are hundreds of kilometres of swamps, bayous and muddy rivers. The characters from Duck Dynasty would be right at home there. I wouldn`t be surprised if they were playing ``Duelling Banjos`` at some of the rest stops.
... which has left us with no water at all. No toilets, no water – we pee out the window at high speeds.
Tomorrow we are off to Destin to stay with friends in a lovely condo and find a plumber.

... right where we were heading. Destin was right on the edge of the warning for severe thunderstorms & heavy rain. New Orleans were warning for a possible category 3 tornado! The thunderstorm came & went followed by a few more hours of rain & the Tornado watch was lifted by noon the next day. We learnt an awful lot about how they track systems how the tornadoes form!! This is what these folks go through year round here!

We have been "lounging" here on the white sand beaches for past few days. We drove 424 miles from Savannah on north Georgia coast down through Jacksonville then across thru Tallahassee (Florida State University) over to pan handle then south to Grayton Beach State Park which is 40 miles NW of Panama City.

After a grueling five days of driving, it was time to find a nice campground and hang out for a few days. My plan was to stay at the state park on the beach near Destin. But the polar vortex spoiled things, so I found an RV park near Pensacola instead. The temperatures were in the 30's at night, and although it was only in the 50's during the day, at least it was sunny!
