... cruise ships docked today (including the Disney ship!!). Our original tour to San Gimignano and Volterra was cancelled and so we re-scheduled to Florence. It has a population of around 500,000 and was around an hour drive by coach. Our tour leader was Valantina a well versed and very interesting young lady. We visited the amazing Church of the Flower and massive cathedrals and the largest square in Florence. The huge statues of David, Neptune and Hercules were awe inspiring and ...

... traveling solo. This one didn't try to get into Hannah's bed like in Barca! Wandered around the market, politely trying to explain to the fisherman I didn't need his 2ft round natural sponge, I simply thought it was cool. We went for a walk after dinner to check out all the big yatchs in the marina only to find out that there was a huge big fireworks show about to begin. I must admit it was probably the best fireworks I've ever seen.

The next day we rose with a little more optimism. We had a look around Cannes ...

... she got upset with me as it was not “etiquette” to remove the price tag. I told her to “sort it out love” and two packs of prawn kebabs were tossed in her general direction.

So with the essentials of Rose, prawns, Milka chocolate, rillets and the healthy yoghurts gathered up into the rucksack, I set off back to the apartment. The prawns leaked everywhere so I anticipate being followed by a pack of cats on tomorrow’s run.
