    Doin' the Calypso!

Our stay at the Calypso resort was really nice. When we first checked in, it appeared that things weren't going to go well as others checking in were having all kinds of problems. But we didn't have any problems whatsoever getting checked in or getting to our room. The room (suite) was comfortable, clean, and just what we needed for when we weren't at the parks. We enjoyed the pools and generally had a wonderful time!

... trying grab onto the blue butterfly that was just in front of our faces. After some last minute souvenir shopping we left the park a little after 7pm and our bus bought us back to the hotel a little after 8pm. Some of our group came back to the hotel earlier and had a relaxing swim in the hotel pool. We all then grabbed some dinner and organised ourselves for the Universal show tomorrow!!! Yay - our first performance - excitement & butterflies all round. Bring on Day #3 ...

... So decadent and completely calorie free. :-) Total cost out of pocket would have been $124.87 but we redeemed three meal credits. Once dinner was finished we made our way out of the park as it was already closed. Within ten minutes we were in the car en route back to the resort. We decided to take advantage of the early evening to get some laundry done, and then relax back at the room. It was another fabulous Disney day and we anticipate more of the same ...

... days ago Min said she'd try one, and in Animal Kingdom (a park with lots of space) I hired one for her. And need I say, she was away like a whippet. She had a couple of mishaps in the first half hour but before long she was rattling along like a "goodun". And now of course there's no stopping her.

Inevitably, when Elaine and family saw her they all said to me, "you should get one". I resisted, I really did for several days, but even I gave in. Last night ...

... were beautiful and we were allowed to see some of the up close after the show.

We also enjoyed the 'Lion King tribute' which was a spectacular show that was full-on. It was in a large auditorium and four large animatronic Lion King characters were brought in from each corner. There were about 4 or 5 main singers dressed up in African clothes and lots of dancers and acrobats in African animal costumes, much like the musical. They sang songs from the Lion King. The kids loved it!
