We had a morning tour Sue and Darren - a lovely couple who are not about religion and are well travelled and down to earth. ... when we arrived at Chora we completely missed the stairs up to the monastery but had a great time wandering around this picturesque village, spotting restaurants with views for lunch and a bakery! We came across a church which we thought might be the monastery but were shooed out by the priest as he was leaving and locking everything. The island of Rhodes is another big tourist attraction with many beach resorts and hotels. I was told tourist season has another 2 weeks and then everything closes. The weather has been great, sunny in the mid 20's. This is a good time of year to go, perhaps not as crowded and not as hot.
