... This city and island deserve more time for exploration. There are some lovely parks in Las Palmas, and a drive around the island would show the diversity of landscapes, from sand dunes to lush forest.

I had to get up at 4:00 a.m. to make it to my flight to Greece. Early morning taxi rates – buses don’t run that early – cost me a staggering 40 euros (CA$61) to get to the airport.

After the longest as most tiring of our trips to a new place we finally arrived. We only got to the airport around 2, tried to sleep on the floor but it was freezing so got no sleep then checked our bags and moved to the gate where I managed to take a little nap on some chairs before boarding our flight. ... on the track. I feebly got out of the kart and I could feel everyone's eyes gaze upon my poor, defeated self. I drove atrociously and I'm fairly certain I was a hindrance to everyone on the track. OH WELL! Slow and steady gets me there safely! Colin beat me at mini-golf too :( We ate some delicious Chinese food for dinner and overall it was a great day. The sun was really hot on the go-kart track but luckily I didn't get sunburned yet.
