More time with the Hupps
We wanted more time with family and friends in Tucson. One more round of thinning out stuff we don't need, picking up a few things we do, and getting Bertha ready to head east. It's been great to have time with the family and long talks. Oh and Julie learned how to shoot a rifle and a hand gun including a bit of self defense lessons too. Colin said it' a bit like his EMT. Good skills to have but you hope you never have to use them.

So I decided to hang a right rather...
... to catch the bus to the other end of the strip so I could see those hotels I hadn't managed to see the day before. Just in case any of you ever catch a bus in Vegas (or the states) the bus drivers don't carry change and unless you have the right amount, you can't ride the bus. Our plan right now is to stay until the end of March. The jury is still out as to whether or not we want to move out of Alaska. Maybe we will just be Snowbirds. Total miles driven since we left Anchorage: ...
Tucson and the Arizona desert
The southern part of Arizona is mostly desert with 2 large cities (Phoenix and Tucson).
In Phoenix we stayed on the outskirts of town (Happy Valley suburb).
In Tucson we stayed at the Desert Dove Bed and Breakfast.
The setting was beatiful, on the edge of town, just a few kilometers from Saguaro National Park East.
If you go walking in the desert parks, or on your own, learn desert-safety tips.

Raul, The Lighthouse, and the sea
... sometimes nice electrical light (solar panels are great!), and sometimes with candle-light (stuck in old bottles, found with messages in them perhaps), and sometimes, without my help of course, the place would flood with moon-light… Perfect for dancing in with “surfy-beardy-man” to Jason Mraz’s “Bella Luna” for example…
Back at the beach Cruz asked if I wanted to come with him spear-fishing. Claro que si ...
