We moved from our 'resort' today to the Sea Cret which is like a boutique resort near the beach and city centre. It has a pink theme throughout with towels, decor, sunbeds and pool decor all pink. It has cool shell drapes which tinkle in the breeze and the bed is the comfiest yet. I thought I would miss our amazing bed at home (I usually do...) but even the lure of that is not calling me home!!

... Don't do it. Our two brief encounters, in Sapa Vietnam and Chiang Rai Thailand were depressing experiences. Other tourists: we have seen both ends of the spectrum, from the well heeled European seniors tottering along in their "Old Geezer" group tours in Burma to the awesomely scruffy young backpackers chilling out over their all-day breakfasts in Chiang Mai. We all painted each other before heading to the beach. The drinks are served in buckets so you really have to pay attention to how much you are actually consuming.
