Travel Blogs from Benidorm
It is surprising how quickly the time flies by! We've been busy and finally it feels good to have some time to be at home and relax a bit. Even some time for blogging!
We've returned to our mountain hiking group. We feel so fortunate to have joined this lively group of walkers. Lead by Bill and Roger who organize the routes and meeting points ...
... Volvo in Spain.
It is much harder to live here without a car, although there is a great tram system a few hundred meters from our home, it only travels the coastline so other destinations are difficult. And the bus system is less frequent and of course not as widespread as the Swedish system.
So...the "carless" Nilbrinks now own a Volvo. We were working with a broker to purchase a ...
Ok yet again we have been slack in updating the blog but life is to be lived after all.
Not all of you may know that we moved to Edinburgh in July last year and what a fab place. And also found a great Bikram yoga place that both Mr and Mrs Mac enjoy ( yes he goes too) A castle and Harvey Nichs what more could we want ? A great Hogmany followed by ...
... walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner. It was after 20:00 but true to Spanish habits we were the first diners through the door. It has been a long day for us and we were happy to have a simple dinner before returning home.
True to form the next morning we had a magnificent sunrise. We love waking to our seaside view.
In the next few days we will get settled, enjoy some walking and reconnecting with friends and neighbors. We're happy in ...
... pretty little town where Mike discovered that he would like to die buried in a pile of French food...and French pastries...and French wine. Weirdly although I was on a quest to eat my way through Europe I am not a fan of French food...I know right? What a weirdo. From there we were off to Miramas to start our first workstay in France. So far it has been fun but more on that in the next instalment haha. Later Spain! ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Buenavista Benidorm
Stayed at Buena Vista in Oct 2004. As has been posted before is about 15 mins out of town. This to me is peferct as you can party till your hearts content and then retire to these apartments and be away from the noise. The apartments are amont the cleanest i have been in and the staff are great. Am hoping to go back to Benidorm in March 2005 and will defo be trying to stay at Buena Vista then.
Peaceful, relaxing, good break
Apartments very clean, reception staff very friendly especially the young man betwwen 7 - 12 and the night reception one!!.
Always helpful, taxi's arrived within minutes of them phoning..... always very polite.
Very quiet and peacefu.l.. I will return... soon i hope xxx
stayed at this hotel and found staff friendly rooms clean all was as it should be had great time
Great roomy apartments, everywhere was clean and everything worked.
The surrounding grounds were well kept and the pools clean with slides and swings for the kids.
I think that these apartments were absolutely fantastic. They were beautiful and very very clean. When I first walked in the room there was four doors facing me and I didn't know which one I should go in first. The first one I went in was the kitchen which was fully fitted with everything you could possibly need. A toaster, hob, fridge freezer, even a separate wash room. Then I went into the living room which was extremely large with a 28" television, it was like being at home!!! The bedroom and bathroom was really lovely aswell and the balcony was massive. The only thing wrong with these apartments is that they are a little bit too far out. It takes about 20 minutes to walk into the centre of Benidorm, which is great if you like walking a lot! We got a taxi which only cost us 3 euros when we were going out at night. Also the pool area is shaded for most of the day thanks to a great big building opposite. This is not very good at all. You got the sun from about 11 am to 2 pm and then it came back round again at about 5 pm. Although there were a few bad points I would definitely go here and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.
I stayed here in May 2004 with 4 friends. The apartments were emmaculate and the staff were very friendly. Very close to supermarkets etc and a short walk from all the good nightlife. We will definately visit the Buena Vista Apartments again.
fantastic. clean, plenty to do, a little bit of a walk to the town,,,15-20 mins,,,,but loved the place,,,not so sure about taking kids there may a little to quite and off the track for them...
Myself and 3 friends stayed at Buena Vista in July 2002 for 2 weeks and they were brilliant. The rooms were spacious and clean, the staff were really friendly, pool and lounging area fantastic and the evening entertainment was great too. Recommend it to anyone.
