After an earful of amazingly talented snorers guiding us through the night 530 am came and I was awake . Laid there listening to these men intensely inhale and exhale air when I gave up at 615 and started to pack. We declined the offered breakfast ( for a fee) and decided to just hit the road. We found our way out of SJPP and up we went. For about 3 hours, 8 kilometers, and roughly 800 meters in elevation gain. The weather was beautiful. Humid of course but couldn't ask for anything ...
... of skis, ex-rental but cheaper to buy them that rent them for two weeks. Then it was off to the slopes. The snow wasn't amazing, one of Lake Tahoes worst seasons but it still wasn't horrendous.
The next couple of weeks were great, bit of skiing, trips out to the American Malls, the cinema, couple of nights drinking. Great way to do things, couple of highlight include, ignoring snow chain signs ...

The other thing worth mentioning is the way the aquarium embraces their location. There are several outside decks all around the building which allow you to gaze on the many sea lions lounging on the rocks below. They have even placed telescopes here and there to give you further access to the wild animals. The aquarium is also a very active participant in education and the day we were there, they ...

Kirkwood has a substantial amount of terrain spread over a large area, and I'm sure Vail Resorts must have big expansion plans for it, at least in terms of greater lift capacity if not additional terrain. Yes, the lists are mostly slow two and three seaters and no detachable quads – quite old school!
