Within a mile of Ketchum is the Sun Valley Resort - beautiful resort and unbelievable amenities. Part of the Resort was closed because of a tech conference - Bill Gates, etc. in town! We had a nice salad at one of the restaurants - sat outside and enjoyed the great weather. The Resort has it all - shops, restaurants, lodge, ...
... to ski, this is the place to be. Beautiful.
A few of us girls went to the other close town, Hailey, for lunch and pedicures (Marty, Dottie, Barb). Had lunch at the Big Belly Cafe?? A fun few hours.
Happy Hour, a drive to Sun Valley Resort (absolutely gorgeous), and storing up energy for rafting tomorrow.
An easy day of travel, from Garden City Utah to Ketchum Idaho. We saw lots of farm country and assumed the fields of crops were Idaho potatoes? Happy Hour upon arrival.
The Ketchum area is Idaho's Sun Valley and the Sawtooths. Our campground is not much but okay. Picture is Steve Seitz doing a great job of backing in to his site - pretty close to us.

We completely chilled out at Jane’s the next day and fueled up for an extraordinary hike the following day. Perhaps this was the most multi-layered 8 mile hike I’ve ever been on. ... out on the single lane road. We passed flat salt bush plains that stretched as far as you could see with a distant backdrop of high snow peaked mountains. Was pretty spectacular. We stopped off at the 'Craters of the Moon' national monument - driving around the 7 mile circuit to see the lava, craters and volcanic debris and we climbed an entirely black gravel hillside.
