        ... favorite part of the exhibit is the Silent Voices, pictures taken while the island was decaying and before the island was restored. The rest of Ellis Island is closed to visitors. I want to return in a few years and see the hospital and other buildings on the island. From Ellis Island we took a Statue Ferry over to the Statue of Liberty. We did not have tickets to the pedestal or the statue itself but just the walk around Fort Wood is enough for me. High point for me ...

        ... This first day was incredible but painful for our feets, we ended this day with blisters!!! We walked from 9am to 5pm, yes we did. No subway because we wanted to explore and feel the atmosphere. Before going back home, we had a nice cream in Hudson Park. We need to rest a bit.         ... We then decided to try to make the 11.30 Central Park guided cycle tour, and despite our best walking effort, got there at 11.15 to find it was actually an 11:00am tour. Rather than postpone until the afternoon, we decided to grab some bikes and do our our thing, and proved to be a good move, though I had trouble keeping up with speedy Gonzales Pam.
