... The place is buzzing as the North Queensland Cowboys rugby team has their leagues club there, and they are in the Preliminary Final against the Melbourne Storm on Saturday night. We hope the Storm win but Townsville will be an interesting place if they make the grand final.

Lots of people come and go from here each day and ...

... go flat out…….admittedly this was a governed maximum speed of 30 knots which still seemed quite fast and at least we were not dawdling along with the kayakers!! We managed to see a mother whale and her calf on one leg of the trip and a few turtles along the way. Wendy even had a drive for a couple of stages, and once again after a few minutes to get her confidence it was flashbacks to the quad bike tour and she fired the ski along at top speed ...

... turned to the side and pace became even faster to get back to the safety of his car. I gave this idea up as a lost course and our assumption was that he is homeless and just lives in his car with all his belongings just moving from place to place not wanting to communicate with anybody just a total loner. Just another character we've met on this great adventure with many more to come I'm sure. Onwards to Bowen to our next spot at Wangarratta ...
