Street vendors (perhaps Moroccan or Tunisian) were selling "Prada, D&G and CK" handbags and there were lots of young men of the same ethnicity on the streets near the hotel which made us wonder about Italy's refugee policy?? We continued to practise our Italian by ordering Lasagne and Foccacia for lunch/dinner (reality has hit - we aren't going to make it to a civilised hour for dinner)!  We know, we know ...

Later that afternoon in our hotel we were met by Jo Lloyd, who is a former ACTE employee and board member and currently a partner in Nina & Pinta, which is a consulting and training company. It was late and we were maybe a bit tired after only 4-5 hours of sleep last night, but her very energetic and passionate personality woke us right back up ...

Will was very excited for this part as we were flying on the new Airbus 380, this leg was only 5 hours and was due to get us to our destination for 7:30AM local time! Time to catch a few zzzzz's Good ...

... the trip and a meal I won't soon forget.

After a hectic Sunday, we woke Monday to take the bus to Abu Dhabi. Like Saturday, we spent all day Monday in Abu Dhabi laying by the beach and recovering at our hotel, the St. Regis Corniche (thanks SPG points). Tuesday provided another busy tourist opportunity. We started the day by visiting the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, a landmark of Abu Dhabi and the reason I've wanted to visit the ...

... temporary nomad existence while it still last! So off to Burj Al Arab for a bit of a luxurious breakfast at the famous hotel. It's tough on the wallet but easy on the eyes and very very delicious so I guess that makes it heavy on the thighs too! The hotel was very flashy and bling with lots of gold plated designs and paintings. It did remind me of being in Vegas and the staff were very friendly. After a two hour brunch, we decided to head to the Palm ...
