Today it was Olav and Oscar's turn to run and they had entered the Fort Collins' Fathers' day run. It started at 8am, which didn't go down well with Oscar. He ran really well though and finished in around 28 minutes, outsprinting Olav of course.

After that we headed for the mountains, hoping to complete the Trail Ridge Road, driving across the Rocky Mountains. We attempted this 3 weeks ago but it was closed at Rainbow curve, due to ...

There are tons of signs warning not to go near buffalo because they are angry ...

... incredible.
At this point Gordy and I entered into a long period of negotiation regarding the time we should start with Gordy being the early type and I'm at the other end of the spectrum. Eventually we decided that we would start at 6:00 AM and that would give us plenty of time to do the ride and catch the 5:00 PM bus back to Evergreen. More on that decision later.
We packed the bikes into the car the night before and I set the alarm for 4:00 AM ...
