... already know all the best spots!
We plan to visit Edinburgh before going onto London. As my husband is of Scottish heritage. I need MUCH advice on getting around Edinburg, Scotland without driving ourselve. We only have a few days before we head down to London so we would like to maximize our time there without being frantic
... but one side has nothing - it's just bare and exposing a monstrous building left from the time when the area mined coal from under the sea. I ask a guy sat next to me what the building is used for now and he tells me that it's going to be dismantled but requires a lot of money and asbestos specialists to take it down. The coastline will look ...
Methhill, Scotland, United Kingdom chrisontour... itself was such a shock. It was like a combination of London and Vienna. Such gorgeous old buildings, I couldn't wait to explore..
..Meet up with some of my friend's mates in the station, aaaand then we end up in the St. James shopping mall thingy for an hour and a half. Now unlike most teenage girls - I. Hate. Shopping. Well at least just going around staring at clothes. Seriously, what is the point? My adventure ...
Today, I was planning to go to the youth hostel at the castle, but the Land Rover had other plans!!!
Oh dear, game over! I popped out to start the Land Rover this morning at around 9am and the engine was smoking like a trooper and sounding a lot worse than it normally does. I called the AA at around 10:00 and they turned up at at around 10:45 from a local garage. He told me that the engine is fairly terminal (piston problem ...

I realized, that was an experience that I would just have to get over. I wouldnt trade anything for it and I don't regret any of it, no matter what people say. I wouldnt do it again, but I definitely think life is a bit funny after that.
I have to say I had the best time in Scotland. Traveling to places, seeing this beautiful city full of life, pub crawling, and the people. I had a blast with all the people I saw. Thanks guys. =)
... Scotland seeing a little of Hadrian's Wall along the way. Hadrian's Wall is a wall built by the Romans to keep the Picts out of the parts of England that they controlled. We crossed the Scottish border close to Jedburgh and from their carried on to Edinburgh. We were amazed at how like New Zealand Scotland is, well the parts around Jedburgh and Edinburgh at least. This morning we did a guided tour of Edinburgh and Edinburgh castle ...
Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom felicityseeker... between Princes Street Gardens and the castle, is just as beautiful on the outside as it is on the inside. It has an extremely large collection and thus frequently rotates through a number of shows throughout the year. The Museum of Scotland is a free museum and is a great way to learn and understand the history ...
Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom europeupclose... wallpaper (which has arsenic in it, so you're not allowed near it in case you ... lick it? I don't know.) The tour guide claimed that one of the other tour guides is hated by the ghost that 'lives' there. However, the story of this man is that he was a craftsman, of which type I have forgotten, and when they started filling in the closes his house wasn't originally affected but later they filled in more and he had to move. I assume that he later died of natural ...
Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom bubba_oliver... Are you from China?" he asked. "No, I'm from Canada." "Oh, I'm so sorry ..." he replied, slightly embarrassed. I love making people feel bad for saying stuff like that! Ha ha ha ... I am such a b@stard! Anyway, I ran away from him as quickly as I could. Leave me alone - I can't be saved!!! Next was the "Museum of Childhood" - boring and creepy. I hate dolls! Unless they're inflatable ... On that note, I was over to the Parliament ...
Edinburgh, United Kingdom pwong... Rob who foolishly ordered the king size cod!! That about sums up our time to now, when we find ourselves in Scotland (more specifically Edinburgh). The landscape here is just unbelieveable, you wouldn't think that a mountain could be in the middle of the city let alone with a massive castle nestled on top of it, but here it is! It can be seen from anywhere and looks even better at night. We were lucky enough to visit the castle on the one weekend a year ...
