        My cousin Rosie had told me that lots of people in Miami spoke Spanish but the extent of this still took me by surprise. Walking along the streets it seemed that everyone was speaking Spanish and I got confused about where I was in the world.

        Happy Cinco de Mayo! And with the help of a little liquid courage, here it is, our first post before heading off to Europe tomorrow evening!! How are we feeling, you ask? Scared? Yes.         ... TRACEY! This is my American friend that I met while I was working on Long Island one summer. She lives in Fort Lauderdale, so we got the tri-rail down there.         ... through Central park to the MET and spent a couple hours there, followed by a trip to Brooklyn Bridge and Wall Street. We were planning on heading to see Lady Liberty but it started to snow so we headed back up West and enjoyed dinner in a diner.
