... had a drink by the pool, the joined the group for dinners. Originally, it was to be a BBQ, but, the hotel had a sea food buffet setup and had us join it. The food turned out to be really good.

I mentioned to Maree that we should have celebrated Christmas in July which is done on July 27. Maree loved the idea and we decided if everyone wanted to participate, we would exchange gifts in a secret santa.

... grocery shopping. Very upmarket sort of place and very busy. Driving in along the thoroughfare it was just flash resort after flash resort. Drove passed the marina and marvelled at the money that must have been tied up in some of the boats.

Thought we would try and find a camp spot just south of Port Douglas from which we could come back for day to look around. Before we knew it we were in Cairns. Port Douglas will have to wait for another time.

The next day we left while hunting for cassowaries and crocs... we didn't see either. Chris had been dreaming of Jaxon the dog (literally) the whole time we were away so we had to get back in good time so they could be reunited. It was definitely worth taking the trip up north (to the most northerly part of Oz that we're likely to go to) and see this beautiful piece of the world.

... hideous inland over the mountains so we were glad to be on the coast. We parked up and took a walk out to the viewing platforms, from here we could see a whole seal colony. Lots of little pups playing in the pools and big mammas and pappas sunning themselves. Dad and Alice went for a coastal walk whilst mum and I played frisbee on the beach and I took a dip on the sea. It was a lovely temperature which was a pleasant surprise. Dad fancied checking out the gallery that was no longer ...

Da wir unseren Camper noch eine weitere Woche haben entscheiden wir uns noch weiter in den Norden zu fahren. In Port Douglas suchen wir uns einen Campingplatz. Von hier aus erkunden wir den Daintree National Park wo wir eine Wanderung durch den Regenwald machen wollen. Im Mossman George Center erkundigen wir uns ob wir eine  Wanderung auf eigene Faust unternehmen können, da wir keine Lust haben uns einer organisierten Gruppe ...
