... also stopped at the alligator&bird reserve on the way. No alligators but there were a bunch of birds! The bike could have been planned a bit better as we ended up adding on some extra kilometres from back tracking. Everyone had extremely sore butts! The pain lasted for days! Which means that we didn't really use the bikes as much since we were so sore however I did bike down to Bowmen Beach twice. Once on my own ...

The Boca Grande Swing Bridge spans two 80-foot wide channels on the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway at Placida Harbor. The bridge was built from 1952-1958 to replace a ferry service.

Toured the everglades for an hour on a swamp boat - saw racoons and an alligator. When back on dock we held an alligator.

On way home we toured some of their local beaches, ate at Rib City and had home made ice cream.

Great day shared with our USA friends.

The market is situated in a small shopping plaza full of ecclectic island boutiques(much like the rest of Sanibel and Captiva) and beachwear shops.

The place I had chosen for us to stay was the Captiva Island Inn, located quite literally off the beaten path in the actual town section ...

... is $1 mostly, and the range is very wide and good quality a lot of he time too. Big Lots, and Best Buys (like Noel Leemings), ....... so it goes, on and on, and I am amazed at how close together shopping centres of large size are here. Just a few miles between them it seems, I guess that's what a big population does, but it's amazing they all make a dollar ok!

The heat is interesting...... For instance it's 31-32c outside today, it was 26 at 7am, and as there was some ...
