... in the mirror the sky was bright as bright.
However, I don't really feel as if I have arrived unless there is heavy rain and a storm, so this hopefully was it.

Mammoth Lakes welcomed us with a big sign.
A ski area, with a nice feel, surounded by snow capped mountains. It was fresh feeling, but not cold.
(Others may disagree.)

Two days, three hikes, 25 miles. That is all I saw of Yosemite before quitting this trip. I didn't even bother venturing into the valley, as there are just too many people and the waterfalls aren’t spectacular this time of year. Instead, I hung out in the Tuolomne Meadows region, which was rather quiet on a Monday and Tuesday.
