... to filter down to street level. I have to say I found it a bit claustrophobic - not helped by the weather which was unseasonably wet, grey and rather cold. Landed in Chicago at 1:30 pm. Found our way to the terminal for our flight to Madrid, Spain, then we had a bite to eat at Reggio's Chicago Style Pizza. Yum yum! Just waiting now for our 4:30 flight... Madrid, then Porto... Will be a long flight, but soooo worth ...

... good for wildlife spotting as well as a nice view of the lake. We had had more stuff to see in the city centre, but felt rude not going along with his plans and he was a massive train enthusiast so we didn't want to offend him! Anyway the park turned out to be a lovely day out, it was roasting hot so we wandered through the woods in the shade and climbed up really steep and long sand dunes to get down to the lake, where we could see the Chicago skyline in the distance.
