... catch-ups with relatives done in one day, we were starting to feel like it had paid off doing the long drive to the coast to see them as I had only seen them once or twice in 20 years.
We drove back to our accommodation and watched TV, drank tea and ate some dessert-ey things. Before going to bed, we did a basic packup so that in the morning we could just load up the car and go.
We woke between 10 and 11am this morning, feeling very refreshed after a lovely nights sleep! After a hot shower and doing our NZ laundry we had some breakfast and relaxed for an hour out in the sunshine on the terrace, it was about half 1 when we caught a lift to Hastings St. with Teresa. ... Kiama. We thought we might have dodged it due to us being a bit later than peak hour, but alas it was not to be :(. We were stuck in an 8km traffic jam that added an extra hour to our trip. Up early for a 7:30 pick up with our "weekend bags" and sleeping bags ready for 2 days on Fraser Island. The island is the largest sand island in the world.
