As we were having breakfast, the lecturer Steven Desmond wandered past me and the Australian girl from Leura and asked if we had heard the thunder. We hadn't but looked through the window and saw it was raining ...

... grin on my face - the musicians must have appreciated that! All too soon, we had to head back to the ferry. Our trusty taxi driver was waiting to pick us up back in Varenna to drive us up the hill to the hotel. They were a husband and wife team that picked us up at the train station when we got there and continued to come get us whenever we called, while we were in Varenna. We really liked this couple. They were so nice and dependable! We got back to the room hoping for ...
