      ... hadn't realised when we stopped in Bellinzona last night that it is a Unesco World Heritage listed site, as it has 3 magnificent castles built in the 13th, 14th & 15th centuries and surrounded by a high city wall, and then surprisingly the weekend was also Unesco 'open house' weekend, so all buildings were open and free to the public.

      ... town to town. We first went to Varenna and walked around. Then back to Bellagio for lunch on the lake. Then to Managgio and back again to Bellagio. It's all very beautiful here and we are just taking the opportunity to relax. We will use our balcony this evening for gazing into Lake Como and then tomorrow we make the trek to Strasbourg.       ... hotel Villa Sebolloni (a very posh, ritzy hotel here.) they are traveling with a large group associated with a lighting manufacturer that sponsors vacations for their customers every year. Their room was spectacular with a huge private balcony overlooking the Lake! We met several folks from all over the country that go along on these trips. We took a taxi back to the hotel and crashed.       ... mountains. Looking at the mountains with their huge houses on them undoubtedly owned by rich folk. We had a kebab for lunch and were harassed by little sparrows while eating. One of which was brave enough to go for it while it was in my hand. Cheeky *******.

      ... there was room for everyone. The costumes and the sets were very striking and colourful all except one scene where they had tried to paint some mountains but these were not very realistic at all and Leigh could have done a much better job!
