Hi all, we spent 4 nights in Port Macquarie staying at the Breakwall Caravan Park which is located right near the beach (and the Breakwall). The weather wasn't great, rained at times so we chilled out at a movie but once the rain cleared we could get out and about on our bikes, rode to the lighthouse - which of course is on the top of a hill, rode out thru the beautiful big homes on the canal and took the barge across to "North Shore" and had a ...

... the surfers. Lunch was delicious, sea food chowder and antipasti plate, with a little glass of vino yum! yum!. Byron Bay is a great place to go on holiday, very lively and very bohemian with amazing beaches. Reminded Gary of his holidays as a teenager in Newquay, Cornwall. It was kind of tricky cooking as the kitchen had like 2 pans and 2 chopping boards for like 30+ backpackers. We found it slightly amusing and finally managed to eat!

We have arrived in above place. It took us about 8 hours to get here. We only stopped a couple of times for short breaks. However we got stuck around the outskirts of Sydney. We could have travelled all the way on the pacific highway but Jen and Jim suggested a more interesting way which meant turning off the highway and then back on later. They went through their map with Geoff and we wrote down all the places to look out for. We did enjoy the ride but ...

... Oz, we couldn't believe it! After 5 months in Asia travelling on busses that had holes in the floor, were held together with rubber bands and ran on fumes yet never broke down we had reached the 'First World' and had had nothing but breakdowns! Nevertheless another bus was arranged and we arrived in Sydney 'just' 1 1/2 hours late. It was a beautiful day and the Opera House looked magnificent from the Harbour Bridge as it basked in the 38 degree heat ...
