      ... is open, as well as the restaurants that serve dinner. Otherwise the sidewalks are rolled up and put away. Not at all what we expected. We came down prepared for crowds and traffic but have seen neither. Probably a function of where we are. The island seems to have 3 separate parts with 3 different personalities. We are at the north end which seems very residential. Holmes Beach, the middle, has the fire dept., library, Publix, and seems busier. We will try dinner there tomorrow, ...

      ... excess of 20 and 30 mph. That is a lot of rocking and rolling and worrying about canvases. One of my favorite things about this marina is the view from our boat of the sculpture, "Unconditional Surrender". It is a huge sculpture based on that famous Life Magazine photo taken at the end of WWII with the sailor kissing the nurse. Very romantic. There is a party barge that regularly passes several times a day. It is covered with mermaid statues and palm trees and has its own tiki ...
