Slow start ... Both weary sore bits so decided on City Tour bus to see a lot in short time and then choose the things we would go back to over next few days. Barcelona is a maze of amazing and creative architecture and as our commentary outlined there have been so many designers and creative people who have influenced the city. Little touches everywhere of Gaudi and others from fascia on buildings to park benches, sculpture and such like. We went up Mont Juic to see ...

          Modern cathedral of contemporary art
MACBA provided a different experience from the gothic, ornate and gilded, to the stark, white concrete box, plain and simple. The building is rather brutal and at least to my eye has not ...

... One thing I have to say is there is mostly a sense of bad customer service - unlike what we have in NZ, but having said that, we have a favourite breakfast cafe that we have gone to where the lady there is great - anyone who can handle taking orders from 12 people and getting it right is doing well!!

We're staying literally a stone's throw away from one of Barcelona's major attractions, the Gaudi Sagrada Familia church. You'll all ...

Today was raining so we decided on the Hop on Hop off bus for several hours. A great way to see Barcelona. Did not see one stand alone house... all apartment buildings, most of the older buildings only up to 6 floors while there are many new ones much bigger. Lovely tree lined streets and parks. The luxury boats in the marina are unbelievable. There are so ...
