    ... annoying in the end and made you want to leave. We got what we wanted though and headed back to the resort. For the afternoon we lazed around the resort until it was time to get ready to go out and hit the clubs! We bussed to downtown Cancun and went to two clubs, one was Palazzo and the second was Mandala. Both were crazy clubs! You had waiters coming around delivering drinks ...

    ... and drove us to the hotel where we'd be staying for the first night. Dropped off our bags and drove to the Cancun Hotel Zone for a tour and a stop for some taco's and drinks. So nice not to be in big heavy coats, boats, coats and hats but sipping a Pina Colada by the water wearing t-shirts and flip flops!.
    We were pretty tired so it was back to the hotel for an early night. ...

    ... a shuttle up with us new arrivals, including Lady Brianne from the Seattle flight who actually turned out to be a guy.

    The man who checked me in showed me my room that looked over some other resorts, with an oblique view of the Caribbean, then showed me an Ocean View room which of course was much better. I could upgrade to the latter for just $25 a night which I did, before finding in my confirmation email that I'd already paid for an Ocean View room. After reading the ...

    ... try and get on the bus. So we had to all run to get a seat. The journey to the border was 5 hours of little ventilation and perspiration, but also of pleasant chat with a local nun.

    We said goodbye to Belize at the border by discarding all our fruit and paying 10 dollars to leave, supposedly to help with conservation. I think we should adopt that custom in our own homes- if people want to visit they should leave us fruit and a parting ...

    ... and as quickly as possible throw them on our bodies. We then realised the following day as we were relaxing in the ocean (clothed!) that not only the small crowd would've been able to see us, but the whole resort as the balconies face out to the sea... the things you think are a good idea after many tequilas! We laughed about this later - at least it made for a good story!
