    ... planted in the Venetian rule. Again another day to be 38 degrees! Beautiful weather. We catch a shuttle bus in to Corfu. It has a unique atmosphere and a fascinating blend of architectural styles. With a lovely outdoor culture and twisting streets and hidden alleyways, a lot of greenery compliments the pretty buildings. An old fortress competes with a newer one.     We stopped at the port of Corfu. The only way to really get around the island is to take an excursion. At least it was for us. We were going to see a Monastery in the village of Palaiokastritsa and to the village of Gastouri to visit the 19th century Achilleion Palace.
    The places were very beautiful and again the excursions didn't disappoint ...

    ... the islands and crags come and go while continuing to read about Henry V's antics at Agincourt. The ferry landed, as ferries tend to do. Patras looks amazing. The geography is very different from Bari: Patras sits at the base of a large hill (mountain?) and sprawls part way up it. Bari almost seems like the coast is a little higher than immediately inland. The port of Patras seems to be fairly dead. Not much going on. Immediately after getting off the ferry, we boarded a bus to ... you know where Barbati is!

    ... Greek-lish (slow and loud english-I hate that I did this) gave me clear advice with lots of hand movements. Of course everyone told me conflicting things but I thinks thats just the way it is here. I have invested in a map-It is more ******* useful as a carshade because I swear to god what is the point of a map when there are no signs on the actual road.     We spent a very pleasant last night in Athens .We stayed near Glyfada on the coast the hotel was great roof top pool lovely way tp spend the afternoon.We had dinner on the beach beautiful setting.It felt strange saying good bye to Michalis our taxi driver he has been a big part of our time in Athens .He was so easy to talk to and it was good having a safe relaible Greek taxi driver.
