I decided to spend the morning sunbathing, so after I'd had breakfast and checked out I went a laid by the pool. I've quite enjoyed my time at surfers, even if it has been a little lonely! So I walked back to hostel and had lunch and it started to rain! Was crazy!! ...

The fabulous weather we have enjoyed almost since arriving in Queensland finally broke and the rain got more and more solid as we headed down the M1 to Broadbeach, Gold Coast. We had booked the Broadwater Caravan Park so long ago that we remembered they had made a big deal out of us scoring a waterfront site right on the estuary and it certainly was pretty ...

... really stand out. From 20 miles down the coast they could be spotted from the bus. My first impressions as I made my way to the hostel was that it was an ugly place. Full of concrete, high-rise towers and fast-food chains, granted I hadn't seen the beach yet but to me it didn't look much different to Coventry, with palm trees.

The hostel itself had a great layout, a nice pool, hammocks everywhere and ...
